Five Things to Do in New Braunfels (and Seguin!) This Weekend (July 22-24)

New Braunfels residents love that the town provides so much to see and do while still maintaining a great culture and small town feel. This weekend is no exception; there is a variety of different “things” happening in and around town. No need to research, five of the best fun things to do in New Braunfels (and Seguin!) this weekend are described below. Hopefully, this list will make planning a perfect Texas Hill Country weekend a little easier!

Grab Some Fresh Food at the New Braunfels Farmer’s Market

Come to the Farmers Market on S Castell to take your pick from the wonderful food available to you. With more than 75 vendors every Saturday, this might be your only grocery stop all week. Farmers pick produce on Friday to bring to market on Saturday. Other than fruits and vegetables, you can find grass-fed meats, eggs, bacon, home necessities and skin care items, as well as hot food to eat while you shop. Spend the morning picking out fresh foods while listening to live music and enjoying the day with friends and family.

When: Saturday, 9:00AM-1:00PM

Where: New Braunfels Farmers Market, 186 S Castell

Watch a Stage Version of Footloose

The Circle Arts Theatre is hosting a stage version of Footloose, based off the hit 80s movie with great music and lots of fancy dancing. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. The culture of the new town has rigorous local edicts, which includes a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher. When the preacher’s daughter sets her sights on Ren, he gets thrown into a turmoil of trying to be accepted by his peers and free them from an oppressive local leadership all while trying to balance a troublesome home life. This is the LAST weekend to check out this performance, so please don’t miss out! Tickets are available online, in person, or over the phone at 830-837-6172.

When: Friday & Saturday, 8:00PM / Sunday, 2:00PM

Where: Circle Arts Theatre, 124 Elizabeth St

The Troubadours have a way of bringing people from all walks of life to the front of the stage to have a little fun on a Texas summer night. The band’s third full-length album, Goodbye Normal Street, the band blends easy and rough and distills it into a 43-minute ride that takes the listener on a ride through the American Heartland and the journey of a young person looking for the best thing. Get out to Whitewater Amphitheater and check these guys out!
